What can cause fluid retention? im 57 so its not hormones plus ive had a hysterectomy yrs ago.can benadryl cause you to do that? i have allergies

See your doctor: Many things can cause fluid retention, although benadryl would not cause that. It also depends on where the fluid retention is. Is it in your abdomen? Legs? everywhere? It's hard to say what it is from without knowing where the fluid retention is. I would advise you see a doctor for a full evaluation.

Multiple causes: Could be heart, kidney, liver, etc. you need a thorough work up by a doctor who gets a full history, thorough physical examination, laboratory exam and possible x-rays.
