Four categories...: They are acute myeloid or acute lymphoid leukemia (aml and all), and chronic myeloid or chronic lymphoid leukemia (cml and cll). However, there are variants within each of these categories that reflect their unique molecular natures. The categories simply reflect the expression of markers of differentiation along each of these lineages and the ability to mature. More specific info if you wish.
