Green pre -cover : You can buy a green pre-foundation cover cream. Green makes red look less red. Physician's formula is over the counter and normally available in the drugstore. After you apply the green pre-cover apply your normal foundation.
If your acne continues, see a dermatologist.

Anecdotal: The magic of homeopathic remedies -- if they actually are what they are packed as -- comes from the interaction with the homeopathic physician and the caring, unhurried and detailed approach. This is the 21st century, and you'll get more reliable results with a scientific remedy. I start with Clindamycin with or without a retinoic acid derivative. Good luck.

There is no magic in homeopathy -- just a compassionately rigorous process of discerning what the individual patient is suffering, and pairing that with what we know of homeopathic medicines (some 4000+ so far). Then there's the ongoing follow-up and management of the case to make sure things are moving ahead positively (like the rest of medicine). Here's a small (n=60) study of homeopathy used for chronic skin diseases: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17544862

Sun: Acne is caused by inflammatory reaction to oils in your skin. Sun raises and activates your vitamin d level and this improves the acne. Get out side more.

Green camoflauge: Redness with acne lesions is a common complaint because it is hard to cover with normal concealers. I recommend using a green camoflauge first to neutralize the red color, followed by normal concealer and powder. Physicians' formula makes a good product that can be found in drugstores.

Isotretinoin: Isotretinoin. For deep cysts, antibiotics may not be enough. Isotretinoin (amnesteem, claravis, sotret) is a powerful medication available for scarring cystic acne or acne that doesn't respond to other treatments. This medicine is reserved for the most severe forms of acne. It's very effective, but people who take it need close monitoring by a dermatologist because of the side effects.

How can acne be treated?

Many ways: Start with a mild daily cleanser (like cetaphil or dove sensitive skin). You can use benzoyl peroxide, a topical antibiotic or an oral antibiotic. Additionally you can use salicylic acid or glycolic acid. Retinoids (like retin a (tretinoin) or differin) can be used as can Accutane (an oral type or retinoid). Other treatments include blue light therapy or comedone extraction.
