A member asked:

Can foot clonus occur in healthy people or it's always a sign of some brain damage?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Clonus: Clonus can possibly be a sign of brain of spinal pathology. However this depends on how many 'beats' of clonus is present and also whether it is sustained or not. A couple of beats of clonus that appears on both feet may be physiological ('normal'). But clonus is never taken in isolation, this is only part of the exam, other reflexes as well as the presence of a babinski reflex all matter.
