Clinicaltrials.gov: This website will steer you to all the approved research going on right now. Dbs sounds promising but only for the most severe & refractory cases.

What Questions?: Are you referring to transcranial magnetic stimulation? If so, there is evidence to support its use for depression. The current evidence is that it is a fairly low risk treatment with reasonable benefit. It is expensive and it requires intensive treatment for several weeks to receive benefit (4-5 treatments a week for about 6 weeks).
