Usually no problem.: Usually a small laceration on your tongue is no problem and will heal by itself. Location and size of laceration will obviously effect the healing. Simply ask your dentist for help with your specific situation.

Nature will do that: Nature and your body will heal it for you. Avoid hot, spicy and acidic foods as these may irritate the area and cause some discomfort. Keep your mouth clean by brushing and flossing normally and rinsing out with 3% hydrogen peroxide mixed equally with water for a few minutes several times a day. Salt water rinses (1 teaspoon salt in a glass of water) are also helpful. Call dds if any problems.
