Yes: Yes if untreated with antibiotics, your immune system may not fight it well. And if on antibiotics, the bacteria may be resistant to the antibiotic.Either way, see your doctor.

Yes but wouldn't: You can fly with an ear infection but there is a significant chance that you will have severe ear pain or rupture of the ear drum on descent.

One week: Most ear infections will heal entirely on their own is 6-7 days. Studies found that taking an antibiotic may actually cause them to last longer than doing nothing. I developed a treatment that parents can do at home that usually resolves the ear infections very quickly.

I have a really bad ear infection what can I do or take?

See your doctor: You should see your doctor so he or she can take a look in your ear and make sure nothing else is going on. You may need antibiotics or further testing. Until you can see your doctor, you can try taking ibuprofen, naproxen, or Acetaminophen for pain relief (unless you have been told not to take these medications by your doctor in the past).

Ear pain doesn't necessarily mean ear infection! You should get to your doc to have it checked.

See your doctor: Give tyelenol for ear pain. Schedule an appointment with your doctor. You'll save time and money. Starting an antibiotic sooner doesn't necessarily relieve pain faster.

Home made drops: If it is your external ear you can make drops with 9 parts alcohol and 1 part whitevinegar. If it your middle ear you may need an antibiotic. See a doctor.
