How long can scabies mites live?

About 1-2 months: After a female scabies mite lays eggs, they hatch 3 days later. Around 2 weeks later, the new mites can find mates. A fertilized female mite burrows into the upper layer of skin, laying eggs while living inside the burrow, for one month or more.
