Talk to your MD: Hsg's are usually not performed under general anesthesia, but IV medication can sometimes be given. Talk to the md who is administering the procedure.

Sedation: Hsg can be safely performed under sedation if you are unable to tolerate the procedure because of anxiety. Monitored anesthesia care(mac) is best provided by a board-certified anesthesiologist.
