No : This is a benign condition and can be treated for cosmetic purposes. They can bleed easily following minor trauma. Venous lake should be differentiated from nodular melanomas, which is more nodular and does not disappear with compression under a glass slide.

Venous lakes: Generally not. They can be treated with a 940 laser with excellent results.
