Unsure if needed: Colposcopy typically is used to evaluate abnormal pre-cancer cells of the cervix, vagina and vulva. Unusual amounts of discharge are typically evaluated by taking a swab of the vagina and discharge and then looking at that under a microscope. If your pap smear was normal i would ask your doctor what he/she hoped to find with colposcopy. Clarification could help your understanding of the recommen.
