Varied symptoms: A "typical vaginal infection" is too general a term. Some experience "discomfort"- be it itching, pain, achiness. It may be accompanied by tenderness, sore, odor, redness, and/or some sort of discharge that is not associated with menses (purulent, mucous-like, spotty, etc). The most important thing to do if you think you have an infection, is to tell your doctor immediately.
