What does it mean if you have a lot of mucus in your mouth & gums?

DRY MOUTH!: All of the meds you are taking cause dry mouth. Dry mouth is a side effect from 86% of meds taken for chronic conditions like high cholesterol & acid reflux. The longer they are taken, the more likely to get it. Poor saliva quality and/or quantity = dry mouth. Poor quality means you have a lot of thick (mucous-like) saliva. Try otc biotene mouthwash after brushing twice daily & sugar-free gum.

Mucus: The appearance of "mucus" in your mouth could signify that you have drainage from your nose. This is quite common during allergy season. It is referred to as "post nasal drip". Over the counter allergy medications may help.
