A member asked:

She is developing a lot of mucus in her mouth and this makes swallowing difficult. what can we do to reduce the excess mucus?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Consider these...: Difficulty swallowing ("dysphagia") can be distinguished as a "transfer" problem (difficulty moving food from mouth to top of esophagus), "transit" problem (difficulty moving food down the esophagus), "spasm", gerd (due to sphincter problems), or obstructive (webs, rings, strictures, ulcer, tumor). Maybe this is larygneal reflux/GERD. Best to see a GI doctor for evaluation & treatment options.
