A member asked:

Could i have diabetes if my fasting glucose is sometimes around 6.6 and daytime glucose levels are normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Impaired glucose tol: A fasting glucose over 7 mmol/l on two occasions would be considered diabetes. A level of 6.6 would be impaired glucose tolerance. I would get a hba1c, if above 6.5, you have diabetes. In any event, a no concentrated sweets diet is in order, and if you are overweight, you must lose weight. Do regular exercise.
