Depends . . .: How close are you to your hospital? Conservative answer is to take any child who's swallowed a potentially dangerous foreign object to his doctor/hospital. Concern for sharp objects is that they can poke into bowel. If you're not close to hospital, head there now before he has problem. Gastroenterologist can scope & remove sharp objects that are less likely to pass thru bowel compared to round ite.

Confusing question: You are not clear which end of the fork was swallowed, but do say the kid is now swallowing fine. This small piece could hang in the stomach exit and trigger vomiting or pass on through. A pedisurgeon advised feeding these kids stewed okra, which forms a gell around the sharp edges and helps propell the object trrough the gut. You could have him seen or feed him okra and wait to see what happens.
