Fibromyalgia: Fm is usually defined by patients as pain all over and tiredness all the time. It can be misdiagnosed as other things by doctors, and is probably underdiagnosed. Having said that, we always do a good history and physical exam to see if some other disease might be at play. Blood work is often done to complement the exam. Let your doctor know of your concerns or get a second opinion.

You can't: ? how to decide if pain symptoms are from myofascial syndrome or fibromyalgia. Both conditions are labels for symptoms absent known etiology or lab or imaging studies to define them. Aside from theoretical speculations, it is not possible to compare two undefined disorders. When it comes to these two so-called "disorders", reality and relationships exist only in minds of the beholders.
