I was diagnosed with mono yesterday. is it possible to have this a whole year? guess that would explain ana positive and high sed rate.

Mono is not a likely: Explanation for the symptoms lasting a year and ANA and sed rate abnormalities. Infectious mono is not a usual cause of an illness lasting longer than 4 months. See this site for more info. http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/diseases/ebv.htm.
