Potential Ca: I assume the cyst is ovarian in origin. Such cyst are epitherlial in origin and have potential to convert to Ca. Markers such as Ca 19.9 are only of value in monitoring and not for dx. If scans show lesion enlarging and if reaching 5 cm. then resection indicated due to high rate of malignant transformation.
