Consult with doc: Consult with your physician, but a slow taper can help avoid any increase in depressive symptoms and anxiety symptoms, but also the muscle aches and flu like withdrawal symptoms that can occur with Effexor and pristiq (desvenlafaxine).

Agree w Dr. Tripp: Taper off under medical supervision. If you are going to change to an SNRI or an SSRI - doing a cross- titration can help.
