When does depression and anxiety become an excuse for you not to do something?

Good question: I would say that each person will know internally when they are using d & a as an excuse. For example, if someone says "i can't workout, I am depressed." that is likely an excuse because plenty of people with depression exercise. If someone says, "i will not date because I am too afraid" then that can be a self-defeating excuse. Generally, we fare better when we face the thing we are afraid of.
