WHat is Pus: Pus is a natural action in which the body sends white blood cells to "eat" bacteria, and also foreign bodies and dead tissue to get it out of the wound. However, there are other things that look white or yellow including liquified fat, normal wound drainage, or fibrin. The questions are, do you have a fever, is the wound getting worse (bad) or better (good)? Pus means the wound is getting cleaned.
