Over active immunity: There are 2 main categories of "overactive immune system": allergies (the body overreacts to things it should not) and autoimmune disease (the body reacts to itself). Treatment differs for each of these. For allergies, the best long term treatment approach is allergen immunotherapy (allergy shots) which blocks the immune response to allergens. A rheumatologist can answer the "autoimmune" part.
