Esophageal Pain?: Often times when the GI system is injured it can refer pain to the back area. I would see your doctor to see if you need any further testing to see down your esophagus to make sure there isn't any trauma from the French fry. Other possibilities are if you were coughing vigorously there is a chance you could have herniated a disk. Once the GI system is ruled out I would look at your back.
