What is being treate: If someone is depressed and requires an anti-depressant then often the benefit is better than the risks. The person becomes more like they were before the depression. Depending upon which medication is used side effects do have to be monitored because they can vary. Some side effects occur with almost all, e.g. Dry mouth. The persons other medical problems & meds need consideration/monitoring.
