How much pain should i expect from a tongue piercing?

Pain now or later?: I would not do it. I have seen many patients lose teeth, crack teeth, or loosen teeth later on. Of course, there could be an infection when the tongue is pierced, and then there would be bleeding, swelling and possibly loss of function.

Significant pain: Each person has a different tolerance level for pain. The pain caused by a piercing depends on body location. Ear lobe piercings are usually tolerable. The tongue can be quite painful ! the pain usually continues after the actual piercing procedure.
