What is a good remedy for a sore throat caused by coughing

Many options: I am not sure one is best, but am pretty sure that one will work well for you. Hot salt water gargles, chloraseptic throat spray ( may contain phenol or benzocaine) or Benzocaine lozenges. Some like hot tea with honey and lemon while others prefer hot buttered rum.
