Unknown: If the sugar pills in a birth control pack are taken out of sequence (not at the end of the pack) then that is the same as missing 4 days of pills, and starting a new pack the day bleeding begins should be protective against pregnancy. Using backup contraception during the new pack is advisable. If taken at the right time and the new pack is started at the right time then protection is intact.
