Mostly yes: Dental problems and infections often cause the lymph nodes to swell as an inflammatory reaction. Sometimes, the dental infection becomes more serious and can cause an abscess in the neck, not just around the tooth. If this gets worse, you need to be seen again.

See a dentist: The er most of the time can't do anything for tooth related issues except for prescribing antibiotics. If you indeed believe that you have a tooth that is abscessed then it needs some type of definitive treatment, because antibiotics alone do not cure an abscessed tooth.

Get it checked.: Neck swelling could be from lymphadenopathy and should be checked by a dentist or oral surgeon as soon as possible.

ER wrong place: If you have an abscessed (infected) tooth causing swollen lymph nodes in your neck, the nodes won't resolve until the source of infection is eliminated. You must see a dentist asap as the infection will only spread and worsen.
