A member asked:

How long does it take for an internal hemorrhoid to go away?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends on Diagnosis: We have 1 word for butt pain: hemorrhoids! real hems are varicose/enlarged blood vessels in anal canal=internal or skin=external. They don't hurt unless they clot="thrombosed." hems never go away -- they are an enlarged vein! clots in them dissolve in 2-4 weeks. Soak your butt in hot bath tub for relief, use advil, and keep stool soft with miralax (polyethylene glycol). See a doc, tho to be sure right diagnosis!
