No, not usual: Some people experience minor discomfort after a "block" but the symptoms you describe are not common. It is possible that what you are discribing is not directly from the block but rather from the dental procedure you had done. Yes: Rarely the muscle can spasm and cause pain and limited mouth opening. Please get it checked by your dentist.

No: What you describe is definitely not normal, but that is not to say that it does not occur. The pain can be from the actual dental work done as you did not mention what that was. The difficulty with opening your mouth can be related to the injection which sometimes causes a local hematoma or spasm of the muscles. Finally, it might be related to opening wide for an extended time. Call your dentist.
