Pain relief: An injection will help with pain relief for forefoot tendonitis, but it depends on which tendons are inflammed? There are intrinic tendons, extensor, flexor, (longus, brevis), lots of tendons to contend with in the forefoot. Usually, treatment involves rest, elevation, icing and off-loading of the area of pain in the forefoot.
