I have vaginal group strep b and am not pregnant. i've got white, thick discharge along with constant burning. currently taking oral flagyl. what is the recommended treatment for strep b infection?

Penicillin : Penicillin antibiotics work well against this. Your discharge and itching/burning sound like a yeast infection. Try some of the over the counter meds for this or get checked again.

Maybe another cause: Group b strep is commonly found among bacteria in the vagina (bacteria are normal). Other conditions such as a yeast infection, bacterial vaginosis, and trichamonas are more likely to cause these symptoms. Because you are on antibiotics i would suggest evaluation for a yeast infection.
