Broken thumb. dr gave me choice of splint or cast for 3 weeks. i opted for splint but am nervous. he was so busy and just said cast it later if i want?

Don't Worry : If the doctor gave you a choice, then you have to trust that it was a real choice and the splint is as good as the cast - that is, of course, as long as you wear the splint. If you don't wear the splint, that is a different story. If you have an issue with the splint call the office and ask to come in sooner rather than later to adjust the splint or switch to a cast.

Many non displaced : Fractures can be treated equally well in a cast or splint but for your own state of mind call the office of your treating physician.
