Many things...: Cardiac MRI is a non-invasive (non needle based) way of evaluating heart and valve function. It is the most accurate and reproducible way to assets heart function and the cause of heart weakening. To specifically evaluate heart valve structure and function, MRI is good, but cardiac ultrasound (echocardiography) is better.
