GET TO DOCTOR: Many problems can cause leg swelling or edema, and this can include fluid/electrolyte imbalance, varicose veins, kidney and cardiac problems, but most worrisome is your description of the pain, which suggest a potential thrombophlebitis, which could lead to serious issues. Do not delay, this is not your ms, but a very different problem. Best of luck.
