I used primeatene mist. now ventolin. i'm now using the new med 3 to 4 times a day vs 1x a week before. can the new med be causing more attacks?

Probably NOT: Primatene-mist is an Adrenalin (epinephrine) short-acting 'rescue' inhaler. Ventolin (albuterol) is another short-acting inhaler but is more selective on the bronchioles in the lungs. Most pulmonologists agree ventolin (albuterol) is a better medication for your asthma because of 'this selectivity'. So, now if you need ventolin more often , your asthma is 'out of control' --time to get help.

Not at all: It sounds like you have run into a seasonal trigger and the short acting rescue inhaler is not keeping you in control. You need to meet with your doc and come up with an action plan that would include an anti-inflammatory med used daily, like Flovent. Primatene & Ventolin are like poring water on a fire. It works for a small fire. For a bigger fire you need better equipment,
