A member asked:

How much omega 3 can we consume a day?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Omega 3: According to the fda, it is safe to take up to 3, 000mg of omega 3 (dpa and epa) per day. It’s not the same as 3, 000mg of fish oil. A 1, 000mg fish oil usually contains about 300-400mg of omega 3 (dpa and epa). One capsule of prescription omega 3 Lovaza 1, 000mg contains the total of 840mg of omega 3 (465mg of epa and 375mg of dha). The daily dose for Lovaza is 4 caps/day or 3, 360mg of omega 3/day.
