Uvula: Most of the time, when the uvula gets big or long, it is from swelling. Swelling of the uvula can occur with any kind of insult to the tonsils or throat, like a viral or bacterial infection, which you probably recently suffered. It could also have occurred from any kind of trauma, but you didnt mention anything. It should go down over the next several days, but could take a couple of weeks.
