Generally not: Mucinex (guaifenesin) is an expectorant. It should loosen the phlegm and not bother your asthma. However, Mucinex dm could suppress the cough and cause phlegm to build up in the lungs. If you are having an exacerbation of asthma, it is important to see your doctor.
