After continued sore throat my dr says a recurrence of mono, but wbc is 4.35 (neu 24 lym 51, mono 21). is this reasonable? doesn't mono increase wbc?

A Viral Infection: Like mononucleosis (ebv) can present with lymphocytosis (high % lymphocytes) and neutropenia (low neutrophils, wbc). Other symptoms should be considered as well as other diagnoses, however, if you're not improving. Best to discuss with your pcp. Good luck!
