Tubal Ligation : Pregnancy after bilateral tubal ligation (btl), a surgical procedure to interrupt the tubal structures that carry an egg from the ovary to the uterus, is unusual. The procedures is quite successful, with only about a 1% failure rate. There is an increased risk of ectopic (tubal) pregnancy when this occurs. Anyone who has undergone btl and is concerned for pregnancy should have a pregnancy test.
