Heart Beat: Your heart can pause, skip, contract extra all very safely. It can be annoying and uncomfortable because it feels like a jump in your throat or chest. Unless it happens frequently and/or is accompanied by symptoms as lightheadedness they are genrally benign (i.E not serious).

Yes. Skips, dizzy: Depending upon the length of the pause, it can feel like a skipping in your chest, or can lead to dizziness or even fainting.. If this is happening to you you need to see a doctor.
