Is it normal to have some trouble catching my breath with a head cold?

U take my breath awa: Depending if its an upper respiratory infection or worse yes - you may also have inflammation of the lining of the lungs - pleurisy that is manifested with the head cold. A good anti inflammatory may be of help. Also - a stuffy nose will limit how much you can breathe through your nose giving the sensation of trouble catching your breath. Usually humidification will help with that sensation.
