Very Easy: Your dentist will bathe the area to be sealed with phosphoric acid, and after washing it off, s/he will flow a sealant into the pits and fissures, and then cure the sealant with a very bright light. Totally painless.

Light cured: Once you have been diagnosed with no cavities your dentist will clean the surface of the teeth to be sealed. A gel will then super clean the area to be sealed and a light will then cure the flowable plastic. The grooves where the bristles of your toothbrush can't penetrate are now protected from bacteria and sugar resulting in no decay.

I'll Tell You: There is no need for anesthetic most of the time. The tooth is cleaned. The surface of the tooth is then roughened and dried. The sealant is placed onto the tooth. Usually a light is then used to make the sealant hard. That's it!
