Evaluation Needed: Over-the-counter (otc) medications can help but to definitely treat the pain, you will need an evaluation, diagnosis, and development and implementation of a treatment plan. The doctor will decide if you need anything more than otc medications or a prescription is needed.

Acupuncture: You already received two excellent responses. The dentist is always the first place to start. After dental interventions you can consider options like nsaid's or acupuncture. Ear acupuncture works for up to 7 days. It is effective, safe & provides excellent dental analgesia.

See a dentist: Tooth pain can only be temporarily relieved by medication, if at all. See a dentist to diagnose and resolve the problem.

Dental Treatment: is the only option for your dental care. Take NSAIDs or Tylenol (acetaminophen) OTC and see your dentist ASAP for evaluation, x-rays and treatment.

Depends: Depends on how severe and current medial issues/allergies mild to moderate = over the counter style of max dose ibuprophen (800mg every 6hrs) or a combo of that with 100mg tylenol (acetaminophen) (max dose per day = 4000mg tylenol (acetaminophen)) severe pain = combo above during the day and then just IBU with a narcotic pain reliever (Vicodin etc). If you are having pain I'd advise seeing your dentist still.
