Infection? Allergy?: Allergy is a common cause of eye itching, and relief is obtained by avoiding the source of the allergy, using cool compresses to the eyes, using refrigerated artificial tears, and considering otc allergy drops like zaditor (ketotifen) and alaway (not "get the red out drops"), and oral antihistamines. Eyelid itching or infectious causes need to be treated by an ophthalmologist, so an exam is needed for that.
