How much could an overbite change over a lifetime?

A lot: An overbite can increase with wearing of your teeth. Orthodontics can reduce the overbite. This type of overbite tends to recur. A permanent retainer bonded to the lower front teeth would be advised.

Depends: Depends on jaw relationships, growth, other untreated problems, retainer wear after treatment, and so many other factors. Your body changes constantly, an adults bones all turn over completely every7-8 years. Gargling with crazy glue doesn't work, so follow your orthodontist's advice to minimize change.
