I guess you can..: But why would you? The exam is part of the visit, and can only help you. It is non-invasive, so it doesn't hurt. Your dental providers are looking out for your best interests.

Yes but.....: First, why would you? It's simple, harmless and can save your life. Oral cancer is on the rise. Secondly, be aware that we want to offer our patients the best dental care available. A dentist also has the right to not treat patients who refuse what he\she thinks is necessary and appropriate care and oral cancer screening is the standard of care nowadays.

Limited exam: Informed Refusal Exam: "I do give Dr. PCP permission to perform a problem or symptom focused exam limited to the evaluation of my chief complaint.
