Yes: Surgeons will remove wisdom teeth if they are infected. Sedation and/or general anesthesia may be indicated for some patients if the infection makes it difficult for the patient to open his or her mouth, or if the acute infection makes if difficult to achieve profound anesthesia with local anesthesia alone.

Of course: If the teeth are infected, they must come out. I imagine you are having quite a bit of discomfort. However, antibiotics should help to resolve this. I wouldn't wait too long before having the removed if there is infection present. Keep smiling !
